When maintaining rotational molding molds, you should pay attention to the following key details to ensure the long-term performance of the mold and product quality:
1. Daily observation and inspection
Regular inspection: Regularly observe the surface condition of the rotational mold and check for signs of scratches, dents, peeling, cracks, etc. Once small bad spots are found on the surface of the mold cavity, they should be repaired in time to prevent the problem from expanding.
Detailed inspection: Check whether there is excess waste accumulated around the flange of the mold, and clean it up in time to ensure the sealing of the mold. Avoid using rigid tools such as steel knives when cleaning to avoid damaging the parting surface of the flange.
2. Correct use and operation
Avoid rough operations: When sticking the product to the mold, do not use hard objects such as sticks to pry, especially iron rods, to avoid damaging the mold. For Teflon-coated molds, once a small piece peels off, the entire mold needs to be shoveled off and re-sprayed, causing unnecessary trouble and delay. Flexible and soft demoulding methods should be used.
Mold closing and opening: When closing the rotomolding tooling mold, the upper and lower molds must not be misaligned or scratched. When opening the mold to take out the product, you must also operate gently to avoid brutal behavior.
Correct installation: When installing the mold on the machine, check the fixing screws twice to ensure that the mold is stable and does not fall off.
3. Environment and storage
Dry and ventilated: The mold should be placed in a dry and ventilated place to prevent water vapor from entering and affecting production and product quality. At the same time, the place where it is placed should be flat and well-loaded. Check the mold frame for cracks and damage. The mold should be reset and installed to avoid deformation due to its own weight.
Avoid corrosion: The mold should avoid contact with oil, water, fire and other harmful substances to avoid corrosion or damage.
